Top 16 Places You’re Not Allowed To Visit on Earth

When you think of restricted places, you probably think of Area 51, right? However, there are more than one or two such restricted places on Earth. In fact, we’ve made a list of 16 areas on Earth which you’re not allowed to visit. Let’s take a look:

The situation room

This is the room where the president of the U.S. and his advisers gather to discuss life or death situations. The room is located 50 feet below the West Wing and only the President and his advisers have access to it.

Vatican archives

The Vatican archives are owned by the Pope and no one can enter the room without the permission of the Pope. Some people believe that there is evidence of extraterrestrial life in the documents kept in the archives.

Club 33

At the beginning, this was a small restaurant constructed in Disneyland. Even though its blue door looks like almost any other entrance to the theme park, this one became the home to a secret club commissioned by Walt Disney himself and he used it for years to entertain celebrities, foreign dignitaries, etc. The doorway has a secret pane which covers a buzzer and those who have access use it to enter the club. Rumors have it that this area is used to host sex parties and Illuminati meetings.

Cheyenne mountain complex

This is a military installation and a nuclear bunker in Colorado at the Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Stain. It has hosted the U.S. Space Command, the Aerospace Defense Command, the Air Force Command, and the Federal Emergency Management System. This is a fascinating web of buildings built 610 meters under granite and protected from natural disasters. It has its own power plant and water supply. Interestingly, it can withstand a 30 megaton nuclear explosion, bombs, and radiological contaminants.

Svalbard global seed vault

This seed vault is located in Norway and it contains 1000 of seeds of every existing plant in the world. In the event of a catastrophe, the seeds would be disbursed and thus, provide enough food to sustain the remaining population.

Room 39

This room is located in the Workers party building in Pyongyang, North Korea. Some believe that this room is used for financial frauds, drug manufacturing, and counterfeiting U.S. currency.

Dulce base

This base is said to be a joint government-alien biogenetic lab which carries out experiments on both humans and animals. The upper level is controlled by the government and the lower levels are considered to be run by extraterrestrials. Phil Schneider claimed to have helped build an entrance to the top secret base and he was later found dead in his apartment with a piano wire wrapped around his neck. Weird, huh?

Bohemian Grove

Every summer, for 150 years, this campground in California has hosted a gathering of the most powerful men in the world. Women are not allowed. Richard Nixon and Herbert Hoover have attended these gatherings. Private meetings at the Bohemian Grove led to the Manhattan project which led to the development of the Atomic Bomb.


Wikileaks is an international journalistic organization which has been publishing secret information to governments around the world since 2006. Bahnhof is an independent Swedish internet provider. All of Wikileaks’ servers are hosted in Bahnhof data center located in a secret and secured bunker Pionen in the White Mountains in Stockholm. The Swedish police have long tried to find these servers; however, they had no luck. The bunker has steel doors and it can withstand a nuclear attack since it was originally built as a shelter during the Cold War.

Fort Knox

Fort Knox is located in Kentucky and this 109,000-acre base is one of the most secure places on the Earth. 30,000 soldiers and a flotilla of attack helicopters protect it and no one gets in or out without it being known. The Fort holds the U.S. Gold Bullion Reserve and other national treasures.

Pine Gap

Located in Australia, Pine Gap is the only area within the continent designated as a no-fly zone. This site is a pivotal contributor to the global surveillance network ECHELON. This location is run by the CIA, NSA, NRO, and the Australian government.

The Mormon Church secret vault

This vault is believed to have more than 3 billion pages of information regarding genealogy and family history of Americans. The vault is off limits and tours are done on very rare occasions. It was constructed into the side of a mountain with a lot of consideration to preserve the documents it would contain. This is why the temperature in the vault is carefully controlled.

The Lascaux Caves

Located in southwestern France, these caves have more than 600 ancient cave paintings dating back 17,000 BC. Access to the caves is restricted since 1963.


This is one of the most protected and highly restricted areas in Russia. Some believe it to be a secret nuclear missile site. The missiles, as some claim, can be remotely activated in the case of a nuclear strike. This location is guarded by 2 battalions.

Area 51

Last but not least, this is also a highly secretive area on the planet Earth. Located 80 miles from Las Vegas, the purpose of this base remains unknown. Some experts believe it to be used for the research and development of aircraft and weaponry. Until 2013, the U.S. government denied its existence.
